NAME: Aigis
AGE: 12 (In Robot Years)
CANON: Persona 3 (True Ending leading to FES and Persona 4 Arena)
CANON HISTORY:
here!
CANON PERSONALITY:
Aigis is not a human being–a simple fact but without question the most important. Aigis is a seventh generation shadow suppression unit, which means she was created with the sole intention of being a weapon to defeat shadows–her humanity was never intentional. Aigis was made to resemble a human in order for it to be easier for her to interface with and use a persona. Due to this, by the time Aigis meets with the people who would become her friends after spending years in stasis, she has little to no understanding of human emotions. This means Aigis has a very thick membrane of naivety surrounding any and all social interactions. Without being socialized like a typical human being, Aigis is prone to saying and doing completely bizarre things when she isn’t able to parse a situation. When Mitsuru mentions to Aigis that “sensitive” items were stolen from her during a plane hijacking, Aigis assumes that the hijackers made off with Mitsuru’s underwear. Even after learning about how “typical humans” act, Aigis still has a long way to go. For all her awkwardness, Aigis remains well mannered around others–typically very respectful regardless of present company. She was created in order to obey orders after all.
Aigis’ primary characteristic–the one that ties into her name, is a fierce devotion and desire to protect the people that are important to her–the protagonist in particular. As she continues to develop and refine her own emotions and understanding of them, she begins to realize that the joy of being a living person is the bonds that you create with those other people–protecting those people and those bonds is paramount. Occasionally, she can get a little too protective, such as when she requests to watch over the Protagonist as he sleeps and go into standby mode in his room. At another point, she finds herself preferring to give up completely rather than to have to fight her friends and cause them any pain. This ties into Aigis’ aspirations and goals: To fulfill her duty of protecting the world from shadows, and making sure that her friends are safe for as long as they live.
As Aigis learns more about being human, she gains a deep fondness for life itself–even the little things, as she begins to interact with other people and even makes friends with a cat and Koromaru. Even when it comes to strangers, Aigis is kind and cordial, often exchanging pleasantries with a certain degree of innocence. She develops into a gentle soul that takes care of other people and genuinely wishes for and works towards the greater good. Even when it comes to something simple like helping to find a lost cat, Aigis will readily agree and do whatever it takes to help out.
Like anyone else, Aigis struggles at times with her identity as a robot. When Chie repeatedly mentions how Aigis is a robot, and that she cannot do something like “self-sacrifice” because she’s merely a robot doing what she’s programmed to. Aigis is visibly shaken and upset by such comments, as most similar notions about her roboticism manage to get to her. Even as she grows emotionally, she still finds herself wondering and frustrated by things that she cannot understand–often large concepts about what it means to be alive and be human, as well as the significance of death. The pain that her burgeoning emotions causes her creates a conflict inside of her, as part of her wishes to return to her initial state of being simple machinery that cannot feel such immense sadness. While she manages to get over this desire to regress by merging with the manifestation of these feelings, Aigis continues to work towards finding peace with her situation, and with the inevitability of the pain that life brings. As difficult as her life may be, and as strenuous a situation she was born into, Aigis continues to wear a smile despite it all.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Seventh Generation Shadow Suppression Unit: Aigis
- Aigis has an android body that mimics that of a human. While she has the appearance of a human and artificial skin that makes her feel somewhat human, much of her body is a metallic frame holding complex machinery and artificial intelligence. Features of her android body include:
- Her android frame intrinsically gives her extreme, superhuman levels of strength and durability–she is also very, very heavy because of this!
- Aigis’ arms and wrists hold various ammunition, which is then able to be fired out of her hands and fingertips as rapid gunfire.
- Concealed rocket boosters line her feet, legs, back, and shoulders, allowing her to boost into the air or propel herself forward.
- Various large pieces of artillery are compacted into her back to be unleashed when needed. This includes: Two large multi-rocket launchers, an artillery cannon, and an enormous railgun.
- Aigis has “eyes as sights” which means she can process visual data, see further than the average human being, and lock onto to targets and objects alike.
- Given that her brain is a computer, she has a knack for quick decision making and complex strategy when it comes to combat.
- Orgia Mode: Aigis can activate orgia mode in order to increase her combat abilities and firepower, but becomes completely autonomous during this time. Orgia mode persists until Aigis overheats, after which she will revert to normal after a cool down period.
Aigis is also, having been built for combat, adept in hand to hand situations, being able to thwart a plane hijacking in a matter of seconds all by herself. She is also skilled in the use of firearms and can utilize just about any firearm with expertise.
Aigis was created in order to be able to utilize a persona, a being created from the heart that she is then able to control and use to fight for her. After the death of the protagonist, Aigis awakens to the power of the Wild Card which allows her the ability to summon more than one persona unlike most other persona users, as well as “equip” multiple ones at a time that she can switch between at will.
Aigis can also speak multiple languages, Japanese, English, and French at the very least. She can also understand and communicate with animals. Seriously.

AU NAME: Angela Aust
AU AGE: 19
PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES: She has a normal human body, but otherwise looks the same.
AU HISTORY:
🦋 Angela is born into a distinguished military family, of which every person in every generation has had some sort of military service––many of which earn various honors in the line of duty. Angela’s Father is such a case, with her Mother coming from a similar background.
🦋As Angela grows up, she becomes kind, creative, playful, and loud––much of which her parents scold her for in a desire for her to be a more proper young lady. However consistently she rebels against this, her parents are able to drill good manners and a smart, verbose way of speaking into her with enough attempts.
🦋At a relatively young age, Angela falls in love with music and begs her parents to pay for guitar lessons–but not seeing music to be a worthwhile venture, they forbid her. Determined to learn anyway, she scrounges up enough money to buy a cheap, used acoustic guitar and looks up how to videos on YouTube.
🦋Eventually, her parents relent and fund her legitimate lessons, but only after Angela agrees to attend a prestigious military school instead of the typical high school she had been hoping to attend. Throughout the end of middle school, Angela begins writing music and performing at school talents shows. She begins to favor themes of peace, kindness, and the joys of being alive.
🦋In Military School, Angela excels and grows into a smart, strong, and athletic teenagers. Despite all of her promise, Angela continually laments actually enlisting once she’s an adult, and the relationship between her and her parents becomes more and more tense as the years go on. While Angela tries her best to stay positive, kind, and gentle, she begins to develop a quiet anger of dissatisfaction inside of her.
🦋After graduating Military School, her parents pressure her to enlist, but Angela chooses instead to focus on her music–not finding too much success, but she does get the occasional coffee shop gig. The relationship between her and her parents continues to fracture.
After a year of pursuing music and going nowhere fast, Angela’s parents have had enough, and at the end of October 2017 her parents make the ultimatum for Angela to follow along in the family tradition and enlist, or no longer be welcome in their home. On the first of November, she is officially kicked out of the house.
AU PERSONALITY: Angela Aust is not a robot. Thus, she is markedly different from Aigis when it comes to the core of her being as a person, as well as the journey she has taken to arrive where she is emotionally at present. Where Aigis is created as a robot without emotions that slowly develops them over time, the way that Angela grows up is the opposite. A creative, happy, and emotive child, Angela continually has her light dimmed by strict parents. Good manners, soft spokenness, and an inexpressive face are drilled into her during her childhood. The military background of her parents lead them to being especially harsh on her, as the expect her to follow in their footsteps in military service. Despite her parents’ efforts, Angela only grows up to be even more emotive–mirroring her canon self’s later personality as someone who is bright, kind, and helpful. That said, her upbringing has caused her to become incredibly strong, athletic, and smart, with a verbose and polite manner of speaking–resulting in a high level of confidence.
Ever friendly and casual with others, she’s not afraid to tease or make playful remarks at the people that she likes, although these gentle barbs will sometimes be a way of masking buried feelings of jealousy or resentment. Like Aigis, her bonds with others are of the utmost importance and motivate her to find her own happiness. Kept at arms-length from most other kids most of her life, she’s now thrilled to be able to connect with others emotionally and is always willing to lend an ear to others’ problems–to the point where she can be a bit nosey and unselfaware. With a practical swiss army knife skill set, Angela manages to be pretty helpful no matter what the situation–which often leads to her feeling like she should butt into most situations in order to lend a helping hand.
While her kindness and gentle, free soul matches up with that of Aigis, Angela, due to the treatment by her parents growing up, manages to be at times just as emotive negatively as positively. While she’s all smiles as much as she can be, she has a tendency to lash out in anger when her buttons are really pushed, with jealousy and resentfulness abound in those moments. Sent to military school instead of a normal high school as part of a family tradition, she struggles with feeling anger towards other people her age that got to have a typical teenage life. Angela uses music to cope with these feelings, playing guitar and singing about her problems as well as the things that make her happy. While Angela shows considerable musical talent, she has had little success in terms of popularity–only managing the occasionally coffee shop gigs. This becomes another point of contention for her that leaves her feeling frustrated and wondering if her parents had let her focus on what she liked rather than their tradition, maybe she’d be further along. She’s spent many a night feeling sad and angry about it as well as the way her parents treat her for being more interested in music than holding up their family tradition.
Angela is a free spirit that refuses to fit into any molds that are thrust upon her, much the way that Aigis rejects the nature of her being a machine. Even as a difficult childhood and parental situation causes her to, at times, have to struggle for her own happiness, she still does her best to approach life with a sense of kindness, lightheartedness, and optimism–which she uses almost as a form of rebellion from her “initial purpose” of becoming a serious, hardened member of the military. Her aspirations fold into this, as she simply wishes to make others smile, feel good, and spread a message of peace.
